what is the range on 27 mhz and 18mhz controllers

Little over an 1/8 of a mile. This is a general number. You might want to test yours to see how far it will go. Of course have a friend hold your car as you walk away from it. Have him or her tell you when it stops working right.

Just get a fail safe and you wont have to worry about it running away. All rc's should have one.
