This isn't just a T-Maxx its a T-Maxx 3.3 with 2 speed, reverse and the push of one button on the transmitter to start it.

See this will be a whole new learning curve for someone who don't know much about rc's and with my next Bingo winnings I will for sure get the redcat 1/5 scale, I'm not like most of you guys with 50 different rc's this Maxx will be my 2nd ever owned in the nitro field.
Plus I still have my Tsunami to look forward to

The Tmaxx is weak! I had one that I modded very highly and it still was not up to par in reliability. A arms, turnbuckles, bulkheads, shocks and towers are weak. You need to upgrade all the arms with RPm arms, Bulkheads with aluminum and shock towers with rpm. All teh axles and drive shafts are weak expecially the rear shaft. They will eventually twist and break. I would take an avalanche over a tmaxx any day. If you really had teh money to spend and you want the best it would be the savage, MGt or even a revo if you had to go to traxxas. Those are your toughest trucks and the t maxx is at the bottom for reliability in stock form.

okdokay well I have never had a problem with any of my traxxas stuff and im not going to get in a arguement over something so stupid but get what ever you want they ALL are going to break and they ALL are going to eventually have problems just depend on how well you drive and what kind of driving you are going to do
My opinion is get whatever you want and just make sure you are happy with it cause in the long run thats all that matters you have to start somewhere so you might as well start know

I would take the avalanche over the tmaxx, i own the 2 of them but its just my 2 cents, savage is nice but i would take the avalanche over it too, savage cant handle no where near the way the avalanche handles i sold my savage last year.

I'd go with the monsoon over the avalanche. The avalanche uses thinner buggy arms and hex extenders (extenders puts more stress on the suspension parts), but the monsoon uses thicker arms and no extenders.
Also, I wouldn't go with the T-Maxx. I use to be on the traxxas forums a lot (but ever since redcat I haven't been) and if you look in the market place and look at why people sell their T-Maxx they say it's because it costs too much to keep it running.

Here is my Tmaxx so you dont think im not talking from experience. Tons of upgrades to make it reliable. Maybe $1000 and thats no joke. So for 300 the avalanche smokes my maxx in every way. Yes I love this truck but would never do it again.

I agree toomanytoys, the money that has to go into them to hop those up can get up there. I cant believe they still have those drive shafts. I sell a ton of the upgraded ones at 40.00 a pop.
