I recently ran 5 tanks of gas throught my Avalanche. changed glow plug and installed Roto Start. engine now screams and than shuts down. would not start back up. i drained all fuel from tank and blew out lines. any reason why the engine started screaming like that????

yes, after i installed the roto start the engine started it just reves really high and fast. it was like i was giving it full throttle but the servo was not even moving. i had to adjust the throttle servo to 100% no breaks when i first started breaking it in. is it maybe to do with the idle screw. i tried adjusting it but when i adjust it too much to the closed position it cuts off the engine.. any help would be great

he doesn't mean the mesh with the clutchbell and spur he means the position of the servo horn being put on the servo. If you didn't put it in the exact same place, you will have to make some adjustments.

the linkage is still in the same place and i have the throttles dialed to 100% closed and the brake is basically on. when i close the idle any more than it is the engine kept shutting off

it doesnt close the carb when the brakes are applied. my problem is the engine is just reving to high and the truck actually goes to take off. i had to snatch it up and use my shoe to clog the exhaust to stop the engine. could there be a problem with the engine.???

is there any thing else that would cause the engine to rev so high like that because the carb is set to 1.5 mm when closed. are there any other adjustments i can make so the engine does not rev so high at idle

make the ajustment like 1mm. will the truck idle on the ground without moving. it almost sounds like a broken clutchspring. it would only be that if you cant get it to idle slow enof without the motor stalling

Or is it possible the carb is stuck wide open, I know it happened to me it was the idle screw was too far out, but again that was a rotary carb dunno if a slide carb does the same thing. Take off your airfilter and look .

turn down the throttle trim on your remote. or start the car with the servor horn off and adjust the throttle by hand. when you have found a low enough setting put the horn back on the servo and dont forget to put the screw back in. i dint one time and my Tsunami was a rocket with no brakes.lol

you can either take the clutch bell off and see or start the car on a box or something, when you place it on the ground and it stalls most likely the spring is bad.

is changing the clutch bell hard for a noob (as i am one). i dont want to wreck the engine that quick. and how can the clutch spring have gone already i only have 5 tanks of gas through it.

Think it's possible he may have an air leak? That would cause a similar symptom, wouldn't it? I've just made it common practice to seal up all my motors... thats just me.

so what would you suggest ehroof. i will give you the whole scene as it has unfolded since saturday. saturday i spent the day cleaning my basement and breaking in the avalanche. i would run a tank in my yard area driving the car in figure 8's and half circles at a little less than half throttle. once tank ran out of gas i would let cool down to room temp. After each tank i dropped in two drops of after run oil. Engine never broke 175 degress throughout entire break in. after break in i installed the roto start. yesterday i came home from work filled tank on truck about 3/4 and went to start with roto start. once it started engine began to rev a little high. i dropped the idle down a little and truck stalled. tried to restart and engine started screaming. car started sound like it was full throttle but the servo was not even moving. i lowered idle a little more same thing happened. what else can i adjust to fix this issue?
