i used grease because it was there and i din't have any diff oil,lol but i thought it couldn't be any worse than already is. the grease seems to almost have a locker effect on the rear diff. both tires spin under power not just one

you will have better traction with thicker oil/grease because the 2 wheels will grab better, thicker oil/grease locks the diff up more

Stupid question but, how do you keep the grease in the rear diff?[sm=red_smile.gif] Tore my Volcano apart tonight and

saw the bottom is open. Also, was talking to a friend of mine and suggested using anti-seize. Would this

work?

Thanks,
Chris

p.s. Kinda quiet in the Redcat forum tonight.

it's nto really oil in those it's more like different weights of grease. The lighter the looser, i guess you could say, the gears, the thicker the tighter and the more of a posi locking effect it has. So I would think that using anti seave(which tends to be pretty thick) would have a locking effect. Also if I'm not mistaken the chassis doesn't have a hole in the bottom where the diff sits so the grease stays in the diff housing.

Only the differential carrier is filled with grease. The pinion itself is just lubricated with a thin layer of grease.

Volcano SV. Does the rear come apart? If so, how.

The four screws under it will take it off then you look at the screws on the case to take it apart, after that look at this picture
