Default Pull start

Hello. I was just wondering whether or not someone has successfully gotten the pull crank to be outside the body. Its a real pain to remove the body to pull start it.

Cut a hole in the body above the pull start cord.

Go out and get an Electric Starter. Thats what I am doing this weekend. My pull start ended up coming right off, so I figured electric would be a good option

I was actually thinking of that. How big and bulky are this starters.

I pulled until I had lots of string out, then twisted the string a few times around a rod or something to stop it recoiling back in. I then untied the knot at the top, removed the handle and the tube, and put a longer tube on there (a pen broken in half actually) and then threaded the handle back through, and tied it up again. Now the pull-start handle sticks about 1" higher out than it used to.

I have a rotostart on my Tornado and I am not too crazy about it. Mainly because that is just one more thing I have to carry around. I like the pullstart on the Monsoon, and granted it is easy to get to with the body on. The tornado wasn't as easy. The idea of extending the tube with a cut pen would be good. I am not sure what RC you have so I can't really suggest too much, but I would say if need be, do the pen idea, and cut a hole in the body to bring it through.

I wouldn`t use a cut pen it`ll fray the cord I used a peice of automotive fuel tubing for a carburator works great. And I agree with need2drag it`s just one more thing to carry and worry about batteries.

If you engine is tuned properly and you use the pull start the right way, it should last a good long time. I've had the same pullstart on my redcats and savage for the better part of 2 years almost.

The Electric starter isn't that big. you remove the face plate for your pull starter and install the face plate the electric and then just put the want in press the button and your off
