front wheels smaller than back....reason?

front wheels smaller than back....reason?
why are the tornado wheels smaller in the front and bigger in the back? is it totally neccesary? i really want to get some tires and wheels but they only come in one size...so i would like to know if there was any prob. with getting bigger sized tires in the front so they match the back. thanks dudes.
