Hey i was looking around today and look what i found

Vertex VX .18 Engine Specifications:

Engine Size - .18(2.95ccm)
Exhaust - Side
Bore - 16.5mm
Stroke - 14.0mm
Liner - ABC
Number of Ports - 3+1
Piston - High-silicium alloy
Glowplug - Standard
Carburettor - Rotary
Power Output - 1.08Hp

are sure 1.08hp is right? it sounds like very little for a .18!

ooh ya... remember this a 2 stroke and it runs on nitro methane and methal alcohal.... if it was gas and 4 stroke it would only make about .25hp so ya

and some of the other .18 engines are 2hp or more...

ADVERTISED horsepower. In reality, the VX18 probably makes less than 1/2hp, I'm guessing.

Shoot, on the HSP website, it claims 2.1 or 2.6 or something retarded like that. Believe what you want, right?

horsepower is a number thats used to sell products. Its a decent engine for an RTR vehicle, but leaves plenty of room (power-wise) for the owner to upgrade to a more potent engine if one chooses to do so.

1.08 is probably a good honest value. It's only a 3-port and only revs to 32000 so it makes sense - many of the 1.5hp+ engines have more ports and go to 40k or even 50k rpm

i saw some one do a dyno with a bb using the vx.18 w/tuned pipe. it wouldnt pull 2nd but it showed 8/10 hp

I checked it and it was 0.8 to 1 hp not 8 to 10... that is a littel over doing it!

lol Dont even talk about school i just finished it, so i dont want to talk about it! lol BACK TO RC STUFF!!! ya i looked at the video and it sayed .8hp so i dont know...
