if he plans on running on grass I would say the volcano....the tornado doesnt have the diameter of tires for it, it slowes them down alot...if I was going to recomend a redcat to a friend it would be the hurricane...I know you said 1/10th, but 1/10ths are nowere near as durable...and I know its more then $250 but its worth it in the long run. he would spend alot less time working on the hurricane then any of the redcat 1/10ths...its a solid buggy, very good basher

haha i dont think it looks weird, but trust me it doesnt do well in grass, i had mine tuned perfectly and then i would drive in the grass and it would bog and die at full throttle. so if you dont have rough terrain then go with the buggy, like if its just pavement and the track or packed dirt. but if its grass too and rocky terrain then go with the truck.

I ran my hurricane on pavement, dirt, and grass also. Have to agree the grass was a bit sluggish but that was to be expected. This made a great street performer with versatility of on and off road ability. Simply a tire change and shock adjustment and let the big dog eat!

buy the hurricane rtr....it will come with a sh.28......play around with it...when you want more power throw in the xtm 457 6 port piston/sleeve in the sh.28 and you will have more power. Dennis (chubbysdad) is the one who told me about it....I wont run a sh.28 without it now

not that I know of....If it wasnt for Dennis (chubbysdad) I wouldnt have known about the xtm sleeve.. as far as I know thats the only swapping you can do...but I dont know for sure...I just know this works and it makes the sh.28 p3 rumble...
