Default reciever deosn't work in cold

I just bought the new tornado and when I was trying to break it in the transmitter lost signal with the remote. I took it in side and took the box cover off of the transmitter. I only got connection with the reciever again when I took the power plug out and put it back on. The batterys are fresh. I need help or tips.

My dad and I had a simular problem,, when changing batteries or doing any messing around with the lid for the servo batt. pack, we would lose power, so for now playing with the on /off switch by tapping it seems to work,,sound like a trip to the lhs for us for a new switch.

I alway bypass the switch and plug my hump pack directly into the receiver....this eliminates the possibility of the switch having a fualt causing a runaway....even if you have a failsafe your rc can take off on you...the failsafe has to have battery power to activate

I just put a throttle return rubber band around my carb. That way if the receiver loses power it goes back to neutral.
