Buy a good set of bearings, make sure you break it in properly, and depending on if your looking for top end or take off, you can change your clutch bell / spur gears. There's several things you can do, it just depends on what you want.

Do like firebird said and get the sh.18. Is it a 2 speed? If it is, then get a 13/18 tooth clutchbell, and 49/44 ( or similar ) spur gears. Or you can change to single speed and just get a 13t clutchbell, and 49t spur gear. Again, it all depends on which way you want to go.

Alex...you should be able to exchange your .16 with the engine replacement program through redcat and get a brake on the cost of the sh.18....then just get you a tuned pipe and u should be set

With it being a single speed your definetly better off staying with it, especially if your looking for low end climbing power. Just get you a 13t clutch bell and a 49t spur gear and the sh18 with tubed manifold and tuned pipe and you'll be set. When you get everything set up, post some vids one here. I haven't seen any shockwaves that are upgraded. It'll be cool to see one shredding some dirt.....lol.........

Do they make a 49 tooth spur gear for them? Is the transmission the same as the tsunami I think it is. If so I have only ever seen the 42 tooth spur gear but I did do a mod on mine to put a 52 tooth spur gear from hpi in and with the sh18 14/52 gearing 2.2 dirt hawg tires I was still getting 40 mph out if it with tons of low end power. Mind you I did some porting on the sh but still.

If you want even more power then the sh18 has get the os cvrx 18 there really cheap and have more power then the sh18.

I've seen 49t spur gears on a website, I think it was rufaster.com or one of the other big redcat dealer sites. I've also seen a 39t second gear for the nami on the same site. I came really close to ordering both of them.
