Well first off would just like to say that i love my new volcano sv. So far i've always given it fifteen minutes or so to cool down in between running it. I guess, I got that idea from the break in portion of the manual. Will the engine over heat if you don't?
Any of you guys working for redcat keep up the good work this thing is one tough booger. It's taken a beating and still keeps going.

They won't over heat. Unless you are doing constant non=stop high speed runs, then you will burn it up with out a doubt in no time. The engines are designed for on and off the throttle not constant WOT(Wide Open Throttle). So as long as your doing on and off the throttle running, as if you were on a track racing you will be just fine, no need to worry. I've run some of our cars for an hour or two at a time with no worries. But when you shut it off to cool make sure the piston is at BDC(BottomDead Center)It will keep your sleeve from warping and stretching around the piston as it cools.</p>

Getting to BDC
#1 Remove Glow plug
#2 Get into a light so you can see the top of the piston through the hole you took the glow plug out
#3 Get a hold on the fly wheel so you can turn over the engine
#4 While turning the flywheel observe the piston going up and down
#5 When the piston is at the lowest spot it is at BDC
Hope that helps..............good luck and HAPPYRC'en

Oh ya and once you do find BDC make a mark on your flywheel with a marker and one on the engine in line with the one on the flywheel. That way all you have to do is line up the marks and you know it's at BDC.
