About Rockslide RS10??
Will the new RS 10 1/10 electric rock crawler run on an 8.4 battery or does it need to be the 7.2. I am never sure about that?
Thanks for the help ahead of time!!

They don't have any specs of that ESC on the website. Their other ESC's take upwards to 8.4-9.6 (brushed esc)... but I'd suggest staying with 7.2v until someone from redcat pops in to give confirmation on specs of the ESC.

I have run my 8.4 hump pack without any problems. It gives the RS10 quite a bit more wheel speed. I want to put in a lower pinion gear for some added torque. Anyone know what pitch the RS10 gears are?

The ESC specs are here:
http://www.redcatracing.com/RC-Cars/Redcat-Parts/E401
We also have some 2200 batteries in stock and we are getting some 3800s in about a week. Both still 7.2 v but higher capacity.
Here is the link to the 2200s

It is just a cheep old pack I used to run in an old stampede. Nothing fancy yet. www.cheapbatterypacks.com has a 7 cell pack called the "Fire Bird" configuration that looks like it would fit perfect. Their custom pack with 7 3300 mAh cells is only $29.
If you are having issues with the wheel speed check two things. Try to just slightly back off the wheel nuts. Ifind that if I tighten mine as hard as I can, the wheel binds up and is hard to turn. The second thing is to check how tight the motor pinion is meshing with the spur gear. Both the front and rear transmition on mine were set way too tight. Again I backed the motor off the spur just slightly and it made all the difference. I went from 10 -15 minute run times to 25 - 30 minutes on the stock 6 cell pack.

It doesnt seem to be a wheel speed problem, more like when I pull up to a rock or whatever i am trying to go over from a dead stop it will not have enough power to spin the wheels even??

It sounds like you need more torque. Try putting in a smaller pinion gear. By bumping up to a 7 cell pack and lowering the pinion you should not have any trouble getting going.
