Launching new products at IHobby
Redcat will be officially announcing a few new products at Ihobby in Chicago in 2 weeks.
I realize most of you will not be there so here is a little taste of one product line we have been working on for over 6 months.
Samples will be at IHobby and they will be available for sale in early 2010.
1/24 Scale Electric Truck, Buggy & Truggy
You can see pictures below.
A few posts down are the final images of the Ground Pounder Monster truck.

I am hoping I can get free that weekend, if I do I will be sure to stop by your booth and say hello. I like the mini 1/24 scale, should be interesting to see what the response on these will be.
Spoke to Nick regarding IHobby, he said you have a crew going this year.
Good luck with the show!

Excellent. If you all can make it, come by and see say hello.
We don't have that many guys going this year. There will be 3 from Redcat and the designer of the GroundPounder 1/10 monster truck that will be officially launched during IHobby. Nick will be staying back in AZ along with the other guys as we have containers arriving at the same time.

I know the scale says the minis are smaller than the micro-t(1/24 vs 1/36) but are they considerably smaller? Also, I don't suppose they're 4wd are they? I was looking at the micro-t but may have to wait for one of those.

1/24 scale is larger than 1/36 scale. For example the approximate length of our new 1/24 vehicles will be 7 inches while the Losi 1/36 vehicles are 4 1/2 inches. So they are dramatically larger than 1/36 but yet a lot smaller than say a 1/18 scale. Hope that helps.
We will have full specifications on the site in about a month and I will post comparable images for size. By the time they are available for sale, we will have a full list of hopups. We designed it so with an adapter it can take a 180 sized engine instead of the stock 130 size. We are also making a bunch of other hopups that will be available at the same time. The real kicker is the price. We are shooting for an MSRP of under $60 for the stock model with 130 engine, 4WD & fully RTR.

I'm sold, and can wait. Though I bet it would make a big seller for the winter months. That's what I'm looking for, winter indoor fun.

I spy 4 wheel steering on that ground pounder. I wonder how much that beast weighs with all that aluminum!

Thanks, that helps with perspective. Though it seems like with the smaller RC, scale isn't an exact science. I've seen some big differences between what various companies call a 1/18 mini, for example.
