Default Pull Start

Anybody else had trouble with their pull starts? Iwas starting mine over the weekend and the coil broke I have had this Volcano for 1 week and the idle screw fell out on day 2and now this. The straight portion of the "S" curve where it goes through the center plastic piece in the center of the coil, is what broke. I did not over pull it either. Ionly pull it about half pull in fear of breaking the string... Never thought the coil would break for being careful :/

Yep.. if the engine gets too much fuel in it(hydro loc), it will put too much pressure on the pull start... I have had to rewind the spring on mine twice, Doubled back with the spring at that groove that holds it in place. has been a year with no problems..
When I fixed It I was planing on buying a rotostart backplate, but it has been perfect.

It wasn't hydro locked, it was pulling easily. Thanks for the reply though. I did recoil mine but I think that I coiled it too tightly because it will only pull about 6 to 8 inches and binds now. I will try to recoil again tonight.

Just get it tight enough to pull the rope in. Doesn't need to be very tight. Too tight will make it break a lot easier. Make sure the spring is clean also.
