Default Earthquake 3.5 Engine Screws

Just bought my first R/c. i have been doing a bunch of research. Everyone says to put Loc-tite on the engine screws. The only problem is they are so damn tight i actually broke the screwdriver that came in the starter kit, lol. Didn't strip the screw,Thank God!!!If they are that tight do you think i will be ok for now and just check them after break-in?? Does Redcat put some sort of thread locker on them now??</p>

Yea it is a good idea to make sure all the screws are tight before running in the motor. Also after running a few tanks of fuel it is a good idea to go over it again and also make sure the gear mesh is still good and not too loose.

i was also doin a little poking around and noticed that the glow plug says r4 on it. According to google it is a HPI and it is a cold glow plug. but when i look at the manufacturer specs they say to usea medium heat glow plug is this normal?

Yea many Mfg's will differ on the number. If you are in VA and are at or close to sea level like I am here on the east coast with 50-90 deg weather temps the med plug is ideal. You can play with heat ranges but is not going to give that big of a power gain.

thanks for your help. just broke the engine in today and by the time i was finished. i was very impressed with the truck. lots of power. one problem i have had so far is that this thing gets so much traction on grass i have a hard time not flipping the thing when i'm goin fast and try turning. but i guess its something that i will get used to.

redcat says to use hot plugs...but I was using a medium plug I think it was an OS 8 ...they are ok to use ? Also if the engine boggs at almost full throttle does that mean it is too rich ?
