Help with Redcat Vortex SS
<span style="font-size: larger;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">I recently purchased the Aluminum Upgrade Kit #HU94166. I was able to install the suspension arms, but I haven't tried to install the drive-shafts </span></span>(06047 Steel Universal Shaft)<span style="font-size: larger;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"> or the universal aluminum links</span></span><span style="font-size: larger;"><span style="font-size: larger;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"> </span></span></span>(Aluminum Turn Buckles 06048B).
<span style="font-size: larger;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">Is it worth it to install these parts instead of leaving the factory parts on? Where on the vehicle is the best place to put the Aluminum Links, I am guessing the front since on some sites they are called "turn buckles?" The Vortex SS is my first Nitro-RC vehicle and I am hooked! </span></span> |
RE: Help with Redcat Vortex SS
i personally wait until stock parts break or ware down before i upgrade. but there is nothing wrong with putting the upgrades on right away.
the CVD's work much smoother than the dog bones. with the links, the stock ones should last a good long while. so its really upto you if you want to put them on now or not. |

RE: Help with Redcat Vortex SS
Thanks so much for the help guys, I'll leave on the other stock parts until I need to replace - I didn't realize the difference was just cosmetic, I wasn't sure if there would be performance/more reliable to upgrade right away.

Oh no!! there is a bigger diff in perf and weight and reliability I was just saying break up the plastic parts first.......... |
RE: Help with Redcat Vortex SS
yes, the CVD's and alloy links are stronger than the stock ones.
just let them break before putting on the upgrades. |
RE: Help with Redcat Vortex SS
ooohh ok... I see... well good, that makes me feel better then that there is a difference haha.. I'll still take the advice and wait until the stock parts break - thanks again for the help - I'm looking forward to getting into this hobby!
