RE: Pictures of your redcats and other rides

I used 50wt oil in the shocks, 7k in front diff, 50k in center and 3k in rear. The shell is a joncepts Dare body. I will post more pics tonight as I am finishing the truck today. I will try and get some vids this weekend in a parking lot - there is a lot of snow here :(

50K in the center would just about lock it right?

How much was the wheels and where did you get them?

ZielkeRacing 12-12-2009 12:17 PM

RE: Pictures of your redcats and other rides

The wheels shown are from Integy and I used the 17mm upgrade hub kit from Redcat. I also used the Integy PRO 17mm knurled wheel nuts. I jave just updated the truck with the Redcat 1/8th buggy wheels with white dished wheels. They are a bit softer compound.

Thought I would post some more I have had some hands on with. I have been a Redcat dealer for awhile now and in my opinion things just keep looking more and more positive. Hope everyone had a great Christmas.

I would have to agree with you. RedCat has dished out very good vehicles and are constantly adding new and better products. Merry Christmas to you too.

How are the plastics on the 1/5th redcats? Any stronger the the 1/8th and 1/10th?

Zielke - how are these things running with the setups you've done? I'm very interested in doing something similar, but have nothing to baseline it to - and don't want to spend a ton of money and find out i've ruined the handling. any vids? thanks!

btw - they LOOKabsolutely incredible.

The plastic are pretty thick and pretty durable. The front and rear bumpers stick out long enough to protect the upper and lower control arms. I've not had a problem.

Wow Goat. What did you hit?

RE: Pictures of your redcats and other rides

It was one of those fateful accidents... where everything aligned just perfectly..

my friend and I were racing around a large parking lot, me with the aftershock 3.5, and him with his jato. the ramp was at the end of a decent straight, onto grass.. both cars had been holding up very, very well up till now... so we started getting more aggressive.

the jato obviously has the speed advantage on straights - though the aftershock was pretty much outhandling and definitely out braking him... he's catching up fast as i'm about to hit the ramp and nudges me slightly, sending me off the ramp at an angle. The airtime was impressive... i'd say about 30 feet or so. The car was doing near its top speed, so roughly 50mph... and it met one of those big metal parking lot trash bins.. you know, the ones you can't lift, but have to roll away at an angle lol.

so yeah - everything on that corner of the aftershock got pretty mangled, and there are stress cracks in the rear a-arms, at least one more demolished shock, etc... thats why i am looking to rebuild it and might as well upgrade everything while i'm at it.

I have had the Rampage TT for over a year now and have yet to break one single plastic part yet! This is bashing and racing constantly.

Notice I'm running traxxas slash tires in the rear. I do a lot of pavement running and these tires hook up SO MUCH better than the stockers. You hardly have to feather the throttle at all to keep it from power sliding. In my opinion this is the perfect setup for pavement, or at least near perfect.  This truck is also for sale, pm me for details.</p>

What body posts are you using with that proline body?

hmmwv15 01-14-2010 08:32 PM

RE: Pictures of your redcats and other rides

Still using the factory posts. The barely work, it's kinda hard to get the clips on and it was really hard to guess where to punch the holes in the body. (for me anyway)

Nice, i use those lights all the time. If i dont got lights in my body and its dark i either zip tie it on or tape it on just so i can stay oriented when its real dark, but i like that you ziptied them like that, pretty trick.
