servo problem?
it has power but doesnt respond. i took it apart to see if somthing was inside dirty or somthing and the little gears just spun. i used the remote and it stopped and didnt move anymore. its easy to turn when its off just not when its on it wont move at all.
i havent run it in the wet or anything i dont know what i did. do i need a new one? where do i get one? |
RE: servo problem?
where any teeth missing on the gears
|
RE: servo problem?
no teeth missing no dirt. i just acks on its own. and i cannot control it.
everything looked like it should. it just dosent respond. |
RE: servo problem?
have you unplugged the receiver you might have hooked it up in the wrong slot on the receiver
|
RE: servo problem?
that cannot be it, i have never taken any of this apart before. it just stopped working.
the other one works fine. |
RE: servo problem?
the radio's that come with these are not the best and probably has a problem, if you have had it for less than 30 days you can get it replaced from redcat but i would suggest to upgrade the radio system.
|
RE: servo problem?
the radio seems fine the front servo works fine.
i even pluged the rear in the front slot and the trigger works no prob. i plugged the front in the rear and it still doesnt work right. i have it in my hand and the thing will work but you have to direct it. if i touch the gears they spin but they have to be touched, it has no brain. where can i buy a new one? |

RE: servo problem?
you ever taken a servo apart?
its got this little motor with a little gear on it that spins real fast. then there is this wire that goes to somthing with a flat sided brass pin. the motor spins great it just needs to know when to start and what way to go. it works just not really. |
RE: servo problem?
yep its broke.
it doesnt know when to start and stop. as long as the little motor is turning forward or reverse it works but as soon as it stops it wont start again till you bump it in the direction it needs to turn. oh well know i know how a servo works. 10 bucks for a new one aint bad. will it bolt right in? thanks ehroof |
RE: servo problem?
the $35 would last longer because it has metal gears plus it has more torque
|
RE: servo problem?
if it was for steering i would but, since its throttle i guess i dont need it.
that sure is a big diff in $$$ though. im sure that the cheap one is still better than the stocker. |
RE: servo problem?
if its for the throttle get the cheaper one and yes its better than the stock one, i posted the other one because i thought you might mean steering. Yes it will bolt right in.
|
RE: servo problem?
o i thought you meant steering too the $10 will be fine for throttle
|
RE: servo problem?
ordering it and those pro line road hawg II tires from that other post. thanks:D
its cool when somthing breaks, it lets you order more stuff than you need. lol |
RE: servo problem?
I know what you mean, what rims are you going to use?
|
RE: servo problem?
saw some in the lhs today when i was watching the races, im gonna take my car there and make sure that they fit.
i think they where hpi, those tires are only a .25 in OD bigger than stock so gearing wont change alot |
RE: servo problem?
Post pics when you get it together, i like the road hawgs, have them for my onroad setup for the nitro rustler
