RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
is there a set of shocks that will fit my volcano sv i need to put new ones on and would like to go to the local hobby shop to get them.
also is there anybody out there that would have extra parts that they would like to get rid of |
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
the t-maxx ones work. a couple people have put them on theirs and love them, the only thing is at the hobby store they are super expensive. like 30 bucks for 4. and ive seen em go for like 30 and lower for 8 on ebay

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
qiuck question. whenever i run my truck the engine mount screws fall out and i know u can use locktite but if u want to be able to remove the screws again what should i do to keep them in.
|
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
if u use BLUE u jst get ur screw driver and take em out... it only holds so the vibration wont make it come out....
if u use RED u might have to heat it with a lighter before removing it... I use blue on all metal to metal screws and I havent lost a single screw on any of my 3 rcs.... |
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
cool thanks
|
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
another question. what is the plastic gear that is connected to the clutch bell in the gearbox
|
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
SPUR GEAR.. just look on the volcano parts and u will see it... it comes with the smaller alluminum one... I dnt knw the part number... they tend to strip fast if u have it meshed improperly... I have never stripped one on any of my rcs... they are cheap they are like 5 bucks I m not sure... I will see if I find any link right now to it...
|
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
08033 thts the number to the part u need..also they are making the same part on METAL so it wont strip tht easy anymore but I dnt knw the number

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
hay hi yall. i was out side running my truck and every time i hit a jump it would nose dive. is there a way to get the truck to level out in a jump, or is there something wrong with it, or is it my driving?
|
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
do you know the type or the part# . and thank you for your reply.
|
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
If you let off the throttle in mid air, the truck will nose dive. Try hitting the brakes if you want to do a front flip. Better have lots of air! Nail the throttle to get it to backflip. These trucks are light and with alot of weight in the tire, so they respond really quickly to throttle...
|
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
If you have enough air u can play with the throttle to see what you have to do to keep it level
|
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
yes if you are nose diving then keep on the throttle a little bit. you will get used to it. but if you hit the brakes then the car will nose dive, if you give it gas then it will do the opposite.

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
this may sound stupid but this is the problem that even the place where I got it from won't fix
so I start the truck, it runs, but it won't move, we replaced the gear, but it still won't move and he nor I can't find a problem with it any ideas about what should I do? |
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
check your drive cups going from the tranny (thing that clutchbell meshes with) to the front and rear diffs. there is a little grub screw on them that holds them on the shaft. they come loose sometimes and it will make your car not move, or if only ones comes loose then you will have drive to only the front or rear. thats my only guess
|
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
It's always a good idea to locktight all the metal to metal screws before you run anyway. So now would be a good time to go through the whole car and take each metal to metal screw out one at a time and start locktighting them with blue lock tight.

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
I Believe that i have to replace my receiver because i cant get my truck to respond to the remote very good any more. What receiver do i need to purchase? Part number etc. i see two of them on the redcat site and not sure which one to purchase?

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
I have a new volcano and i destroyed the centre diff. I put the new steel parts in and now it drives like half speed. It was tuned perfect but now seems to be blowing alot of smoke out the pipe. What should I be doing to get this truck running like it was before the diff went? Thanks
|
RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
check out the mesh between the cluthbell and the trans... maybe its too tight....(just a guess)
|

I've only run the OS A3, though it had an OS8 in it when I got it (used). The A3 ran better, for sure.
