REDCAT TORNADO XP 2 SPEED

:eek:Are these little buggys very good? I just ordered one from a guy on e-bay, iiis it pretty easy to get parts for? before i run it i am going to lock-tite all the nuts on the buggy. What about break-in procedures, how do you guys think i can break it in with out harming the .18 engine. i will be using 20% nitro.

its a pretty good buggy just make sure you loctite everything and you may wanna change out your clutch bell and clutch spring the clutch bells from the factory are out of round and the springs seem to break easily but if you do that you should have good service out of your rig check the clutch bell post at the top of the forums it has all of the info there i'm runnin the bell/pinion gears w/the teflon clutch and its great

if you need parts for it there is

www.clermontmotorsports.com
www.allaboutfunhobbies.com
www.redcatracing.com
www.himotoracing.com

and for misc parts is

www.towerhobbies.com

RE: REDCAT TORNADO XP 2 SPEED

they are really nice for the money. break it in slow, also richen it up alittle before you drive it, mine came in a little lean and i dont have very good compression now.
they are hard to get to stay running so get a big parkinglot and make slow laps for the first few tanks, alittle faster than idle. the engines are so tight that it will not idle very good at first.

also get you a hpi clutch bell cause the stocker is probly out of round( will eat up your sper gear).
and some bigger street tires like in my profile. proline speed hogs i think is what i got. makes driving on the road great and it also has a better more ballanced feel to it.

and you must get a clutch spring. i dont notice much differance in the traxxas $8
and the cheap pair for 3.
but you will need one.

a cheap servo will also be nice to have laying around cause i burned up 1 in my tornado and 1 in my hurricane. itsd bound to happen cause the stockers suck

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5342050/tm.htm 2nd post

heres all the info on the stuff you will need.

this servo would be sweet in that buggy though, but i have the cheap o $10 in mine i just ordered this one for my hurricane

anythings better than the stockers

RE: REDCAT TORNADO XP 2 SPEED

I own a REDCAT TORNADO XP 2 SPEED and I have had it for almost 2 weeks I have ran it through about 2 quarts of nitro. Now my engine seems to go half speed at full throttle and I have no clue what the problem is. Maybe because I was not using air filter oil. Any help would be apreciated. Thanks
