RE: PULLSTART ON A TORNADO XP
i dont belive so but why would you pay 65 bucks for a pullstart
|
RE: PULLSTART ON A TORNADO XP
Actually that looks like it may ... not sure about the internals of that pullstart, the one way opening, etc.
Why would you want the shell out that much for a pullstart when you can get the HPI one for much less? I have it installed and love it!!! It works much better than the stock one, and appears to me to be made better. |
RE: PULLSTART ON A TORNADO XP
[:o] ehroof is that hpi #15126 a direct bolt on. i hope it is better made than the original pullstart assemblie
bobcat |
RE: PULLSTART ON A TORNADO XP
yes it is a direct fit, you may have to put a washer behind each screw, i did on one redcat but not the other.
|
RE: PULLSTART ON A TORNADO XP
:D Thanks Ehroof i just ordered one from tower hobbies i guess im down for awile![>:] I sure do appreciate the help you have givin me i wouldnt no what to do with out your knowledge! Should i put a lock washer on that scew or just a flat washer?
Bobcat |
RE: PULLSTART ON A TORNADO XP
a flat washer, behind the pullstart, on one it was too close and the starter wouldnt retract, on the other it is fine and i didnt have to do anything
|
RE: PULLSTART ON A TORNADO XP
r u talking about the shaft were the nut with bearings is?
bobcat |
RE: PULLSTART ON A TORNADO XP
between the pullstarter and the engine, a very thin washer
|
RE: PULLSTART ON A TORNADO XP
yeah i would order one except i dont really want to order it from over seas unless i can find a hpi pullstart in NZ
|
RE: PULLSTART ON A TORNADO XP
Actually fixing the pullstart is easy you just need to wind up the spring and the cord. PLace the wond up spring in the housing that has the pull cord with the hook over the catch. Then place the cord housing in the main housing. Use needle nose pliers to add the tention to the spring. I had to do it today I can make some photos if anybpdy is intrested. My question is what size screws do I use to mount it back to the engine.

RE: PULLSTART ON A TORNADO XP
i did exactly what you did and broke again about after 8-10 pulls
|
RE: PULLSTART ON A TORNADO XP
It's pointless once it pops out and unwinds, it won't be any thing but trouble from there on out.
|
RE: PULLSTART ON A TORNADO XP
I totally agree, although I was able to repair mine ... it was more of a POS afterwards so I replaced it with the HPI Nitro Star one and it works better than new now :D I did keep the stock one as a spare though.
