problem
What was the problem when the car starts off the ground but it dont on the ground? I read it somewhere but forgot. Hopefully it wont be clutch spring cause i spend lil bit more than half gallon with the car.

RE: problem
clutch spring, replace with traxxas 4146x
|
RE: problem
damn they go that fast? Spring i have on it right now is also traxxas 4146x. I cant image the stock spring it prolly last 2 tanks
|
RE: problem

RE: problem
idk what your saying. please type like you talk.
|
RE: problem
I know it is a dumb question but u dont have to replace that forever? how is the fitment?
|
RE: problem
can some also post the link for the 13/18 clutch bell install? Since i am going to take apart everything i want to install the 13/18 clutch bell ( I already have clutch bell, needle and bushings) also.
|
RE: problem
those mip springs are not tight enough and the car wants to move foreward unless at a very low idle, almost stalling idle. the 4146x is a tighter spring and doesnt want to launch foreward.
|
RE: problem
it goes, washer, bushing, bearing, bushing, tension pin to extend past the clutch bell, then big washer, smaller washer, locknut and screw
|
RE: problem
size of the tension pin? From home depot right? Other than tension pin do i need anything else to buy?
|
RE: problem
5/16 by 1" is big enough, you may need a bigger screw for the clutch bell, like a 1/4" larger
|
RE: problem
damn it is pain in the a*s to to install isnt it? I might leave is for later
|
RE: problem
home depot has the tension pin and they may have the longer screw, if not you local hobby store will. its not that hard, i had it cut and put together in a few minutes, i cut the pin with my dremel.
|
RE: problem
ohh u had to cut the pin?
|
RE: problem
yes they come 1" or 3/4", you only need like 1/4", i got the 1 inch so there was more to hold on to and a little extra in case you make a mistake, it comes with 2 pins in a package, they only cost like a $1 the most. its easy to do.
|
RE: problem
Yeah it sounds easy but 17/22 was really easy for me, plug and play. But this one alot of stuff going on. Hopefully i wont mess it up.
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...85&FVPROFIL=++ you think this one is worth it? Any benefit? http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...86&FVPROFIL=++ any down sides other than high stall? |
RE: problem
the more expensive one is better, the springless one has to high of a stall rate and i am not too crazy about it, it does work though.
|
RE: problem
i like the high stall it launches harder......you cant really tell all that much i have it on mybuggy
|
RE: problem
I bought the racing clutch. Hopefully it will worth it, which i doubt.
|
RE: problem
the racing clutch will make you happy and it will last you a long time without any maintaince
|
RE: problem
is there any other pros for racing clutch other than long life?
|
RE: problem
adjustable stall rate, 3 different settings
|
RE: problem
I have the racing clutch for my buggy and I absolutely love it. You will be very happy with it I guarantee. I have put a least 15 tanks in it, hardly to no wear on it at all.

RE: problem
Should get the HPI A886, it's what I have and has two sets of the spring/tension clips.
Gold = high stall rate Black = standard stall rate http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...86&FVPROFIL=++ The HPI A885 is a good set too (but still has a wrap around spring) adjustable stall rate by cutting the clutch shoes. |
