RE: Redcats Monsoon Thread
yes the crappy washer that goes on the outside of the bushing is no good. Take off the clutchbell, take out one of the 2 shims behind the last bearing, (so the spacer is sticking out a hair past the end of the clutchbell) then install a new washer and screw and tighten all the way down so the washer is just about touching the clutchbell. If it tightens to much take out another shim. You want the screw all the way tight but not so the clutchbell wont spin. Just did it to an avalanche today. same thing happened.

RE: Redcats Monsoon Thread
do you have a pic of that?
|
RE: Redcats Monsoon Thread
no but I might be able to get something. It is pretty basic.
|
RE: Redcats Monsoon Thread
I am pretty sure I understand what you are talking about, but having a pic just clarifies it so much that way I know I don't mess anything up.:D
|
RE: Redcats Monsoon Thread
I just put on the 12 tooth clutch bell and was wondering if I should have used lock tite on the screw that holds on the clutch bell and how tight should I have tightened that screw?
|
RE: Redcats Monsoon Thread
yes, blue loctite, be careful not to get any on the bearing and it should be tight!!

RE: Redcats Monsoon Thread
my motor has lost pinch for the second time, temps at hottest point were 285 usually run about 245. just had motor re-pinched by someone at local track and have been throuth 5 tanks to do second break in and temps never went above 240 and have totally lost pinch again on my sh 28 p3. could a bad or dirty one way bearing do this? would a bad or dirty one way bearing cause any loss of power?
|
RE: Redcats Monsoon Thread
Are you losing your pinch when you check it all warmed up? If so the SH.28 will lose alot of pinch when warm. After it cools down it should be ok.
|
RE: Redcats Monsoon Thread
PINCH IS GONE EVEN WHEN NO USE FOR DAYS, HOURS, OR ANYTIME. I HAVE ANOTHER SH28 WHICH IS ABOUT 3 MONTHS OLD IN MY HURRICANE PRO, COMPARED TO THIS MOTOR WHICH IS ABOUT 1 MONTH OLD AND I HAVE NO ISSUES WITH MY OTHER SH28.

RE: Redcat Monsoon Thread
How do you change over the suspension to pbs and what parts do I need to order to do so? Help please.
|
RE: Redcats Monsoon Thread
to change over to pbs you need to get upper arms, lower arms, the pbs hubs, and the balls. if you use parts from a team vtx truggy it's a direct fit. your axals and wheel nuts will fit right to gether with the vtx parts. go to highbanksrc to find the parts but make sure the parts are for the truggy and not the buggy. these are the parts i did mine with and it works great.
|
RE: Redcats Monsoon Thread
i used some trinity xxtra strong tmaxx springs on my front shocks works good you need to stretch the diameter of spring out at the ends to fit though.
