RE: volcano sv pro help

your welcome, if you dont want to wait, go to an auto store and get some gasket material and cut out your own.

tried with cork gasket from a transmission i had laying around and it stills seems to burn it off

ehroof 09-10-2007 10:16 PM

RE: volcano sv pro help

yeah, thats not real high tem gasket material, they sell small rolls of material, i bought some for my kids pocket bike and made a couple of rc exhaust gaskets, have a ton left over still, that cork gasket is meant for trans, oil pan and valve covers, not real high temp material.

hate to keep buggin you thanx for all the help before the gasket went when i ran the truck for a few minutes and did the spit test on it it seemed to be running cool (10 sec or more) im running bryons 15% with 18% oil got about a half gallon through it can i still lean it out it smokes like crazy now and seemed to be running great till the manifold loosened up. or should i switch to a lower oil content and retune it

ehroof 09-10-2007 10:37 PM

RE: volcano sv pro help

18% oil is a little high, and 15% nitro is a little low, is that plane fuel? i like byrons race proven 20%, i think it has 12% oil. you can lean it a little at a time and see if the performance is getting any better, if not then dont bother, do 1/8 turns at a time.

RE: volcano sv pro help

thats what the guy at my lhs sais he sold it for, was just going by what the inst. book said for fuel so is the 20% what you would recommend i just dont want to smoke the engine so i went with the inst.book recomendation

p.s. i can pm you if it is easier

RE: volcano sv pro help

yes go with 20 percent, byrons, trinity,Odonnels

twomanytoys 09-11-2007 10:09 AM

RE: volcano sv pro help

Yah 20% is fine and dont go more than 12% oil or less than 8%.

what engine is in your volcano, the hpi pull start fit 4 of my redcats, the vx-18, i see you have the pro, does that come with a different engine, i think its the infinity .18, from what i understand they use the same pullstart, maybe not if you say it didnt work.

RE: volcano sv pro help

yeah the pros come with the infinity .18 it must have a different backplate on it cause the hex was right but the holes didnt line up
