Currently only one color per model type is available and you can see them for the 1/8 and 1/10 scale when you go to the site. RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
Those prices are killer!!! You should sell a TON of those!!!:D
|
RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
Awesome. You should do the EPX redcats w/out the electronics.
|
RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
Electrics in process. Those are due around May timeframe.

RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
Awesome
|
RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
Nice going, they should be a big hit.
|
RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
Since the RTM models don't come with the servos, does it have the steering link and plastic piece (don't know what it's called) attached to the servo?
|
RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
servo arm
|
RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
found it. Servo horn.
|
RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
Good question. I do not think it is included but will find out.

Perfectly timed for tax refund [sm=lol.gif]

RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
IMO This seems like a good idea but just looking at the price it will be more expensive than just buying a pre-built one. Like if you get a tornado RTM for $120 and a motor is $90, thats more then the one you can get with everything on it. I think you may think about lowering the price a bit.
|
RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
I think there priced right, do to the fact that when people buy a fully equipped one with only stock, they will replace it all, servo's, motor, and transmitter which by giving a $100.00 off, saves us $100.00.
|
RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
The idea is to use equipment you already have ( engine, radio)
I agree though that I would have liked to see them a little cheaper, maybe around 179 (hurricane)[sm=72_72.gif] I think the price of the monsoon is spot on, though. |
RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
Keep in mind that the MSRP on Redcat's site is just a reccomendation. Once the dealers get their hands on them I think they will be a steal! Now I just wish I had a motor layin around begging to be put in someting!!

RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
hmmm i got a super pooper 27 laying from my warhead hmmm maybe in a hurricane :D
|
RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
Its a great idea but... prices seem high to me too. Example. RTR Tornado is $189 and the RTM version is $119.(list prices) So for $70 you get an engine, servos and a radio.. Buy the RTR and remove that stuff and save it for spares or sell it on ebay for $100. Thats puts you $30 cheaper then the RTM version.. I don't get it. I think the RTM version has to be more then $70 cheaper then the RTR version..
If I bought a RTM version and bought a Redcat engine, servos and radio it would be wayyyyyyyy more the the RTR verson and I would have have to put it together.. Am I wrong?? |
RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
No, not wrong. I agree the prices are too high the more I think about it.
|
RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
Most people that buy these have sold truggies or buggies they had and keep there motors and servos and electronics and just sell them as rollers this way whatever they buy new they do not have to spend it all again to replace the stuff. For example I sold my Mantis truggy as a roller for 220.00 without anything on it and bought a ST-RR for 650 so I only have 420.00 into it and installed my motor, servos and electrics from my mantis on it and that is all I have into it. 450.00 into a ST-RR!!!!:D If I did that and bought a monsoon RTM I would have $0.00 into the whole truck. That is the advantage of a RTM or a roller. Price seems pretty cheap now huh?
|
RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
I understand the whole point of the RTM, as I believe I said earlier ( look up), but I feel the RTM price is still too close to the RTR price. Only $100 diff. Hell, the engine is worth more than that.
If you feel good about the price, great..could be better in my book;) I am really only complaining about the Hurricane price. The monsoon RTR sells for $349, the RTM $219. $130 difference. Hurricane is only $100 Difference[sm=72_72.gif] And yes, almost anything compared to an ST-RR is cheap:D |
RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
i also think the prices are to high. i payed 150 for my tornado with a starter kit included. they want 120 for the buggy wthout a motor and electronics. thats only 30 bux more for the rtr packadge
|
RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
your forgetting the original price you paid for the Mantis truggy. Take this into consideration and the ST-RR ain't $420 .. is it?? :)

RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
exactly.. I paid $99 for my RTR Shockwave. The whole darn car!! lol
Darren, question.... How about the other end of the spectrum.. What would the market say if you installed high end conponents on Redcat cars? Say.. High end fm radios and high end (fast and reliable)servos and quality engines.. Do you think that there would be a market for that? I def would be interested..:) You guys can surely purchase conponents at a better prices then us anyway.. RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
yeah but you put $400 more of BLING into it, :D
|
RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live

RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
i'm only fooling with you bro :(
|
RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
oh ok.. I did not want anyone to think I was being an ***** by saying what I did. It was surely not meant to to.. I was just giving my opinion.. Sorry if I came across wrong..

RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
cant wait to see the prices clermont and aaf come up with....thinking about buying another cane so I can run in the 1/8th late model class at the track nearby...(im out in the sticks..nearby is 80 miles away...lol)...havent ran my cane next to high end cars.. but from just watching I think simuliar performance with the 28sh...if anything I think it will get out of the whole and corners a lil faster....we will see what happens...but already got the racing bug..lol

RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
just wondering if i bought a RTM 1/10 Volcano what i would have to put into it to get it running . Motor, Servos, Receiver, and what else? I was just thinking i could swap out the electronics and the motor out of my exceed buggy and run a Volcano very cheap.
|
RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
You will need the engine, receiver, servos (2), transmitter and I think that's it.
|
RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
And if you compare the prices to other brands you realize how great of a deal it really is.
[link=http://www.hobbytron.com/RCCarNitroCENMatrixCEN9552.html]Cen Matrix Buggy without engine/electronics[/link] [link=http://www.hobbytron.com/CENMatrixBuggy.html]Cen matrix buggy with everything[/link] However, lowering the price couldn't hurt:D |
RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
sweet. can run 2 cars with for half the price.
|
RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
Don't know if you saw the cen buggy kit but that's $500 and it of course being a kit, doesn't have the electronics/engine either.
|
RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
Do these include the engine mounts, exhaust mount, linkage for the servos, and servo hornes. What I am trying to get at is that do you only need the engine, exhaust and servos?
Also will the tsunami ultra wide be available? |
RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
I think all of that is included. but when they come in i will post the exact stuff included and needed. If the rtm models that we currently offer do good then i would say yes that the tsunami ultra wide would be available.

RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
Instead of putting high end stuff into the cars what if we carried high end stuff so that when you place the order you can order everything that you need. That way you could maybe pick from 3 or so small block engines, a few radios, servos. things like that. if we put high end stuff into them already then you have no option. most people are more picky when it comes to high end performance mods. Every one knows that rtr don't come with top quality stuff. I just think that it would be better to offer a few options instead. of just one choice. you never know maybe we could work out a package deal. the more suggestions that you give us the better we will become.
|
RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
It's a pretty good deal for what you're getting. Look at some of the other brands, you can get a kit or RMT (almost ready to run) for MORE MONEY than the RTR. Redcats got quite a good deal going here. I think they'll be successful with the RTM models!
|
RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
excellent! Kinda like a RC car al la cart:) One from column A. one from column B.. lol That way you could build a car they way you want.. EXCELLENT idea....

RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
your right nick...just have a foundation and have high end mods an option...
|
RE: RTM (Ready to Modify) Models Live
RTM also = ARR... race rollers...
Think of the 1/8 scale nitros as... Ready to convert to brushless :D As far as general requirements for Rolling chassis... they need a radio with 2 servos (horns normally come with radio/servos), engine and exhaust. Sometimes they come w/o tires but come with wheels so you can pick your own treads to suit your needs. My cane is going under a major surgery... its getting a powerplant transplant. Instead of fuel, it'll be running off of a 4s lipo and turning a good 50,000 rpm. |
