Pullstart problem-Un raveled-help =)

Well i got my 4 things from cler yesterday with his amazingly fast shipping =D. I'm very satisfied with everything but I had a slight problem that arose. I went and opened my new OEM Pull start from redcat and i guess on accident i pull it a little bit and everything decided to pop out. the plastic middle piece and the wiring and crap and the string is un raveled too and i have no idea how too put it back together like it came out of the package! Anyone know ?

bro, its not easy to rewind the spring, you should never pull on a plull start when its not on, the string holder will pop out and you will have a mess. i will see if i can drum up some pictures for you, i remember a site that had pictures of the pullstart rebuild

oo and thanks Eddie yeah i have no idea when i pulled on it, i didnt intentionally do it I think it grabbed onto something and it happend. But i keep getting closer to getting it into place but like firebird said it just isnt staying tight enough for me too push it down into place.

get ya some thin wire...wire tie it..put it down in...snip wires and remove..hard part then is to line up spool with the coil...mines back together

I just wrapped it a couple times...more on the side the hook isnt on..put it in the housing and put the hook in its place and slid it off with a pick

lol...far from god..im sure theres a proper way..I do however think I messed up the spring from winding the spool the wrong ways and try pulling on the cord..I use a roto start so I just had my pullstart handy

MgSuPrA101 02-10-2008 10:07 PM

RE: Pullstart problem-Un raveled-help =)

What was you using to start it with ? the roto start. a cordless drill or a roto start drill ?
