drill start questions
I''m tired of dealing with the pull start and im gonna get a drill start, but before that i need to ask a question or 2..........or maybe 3, i dunno. when do the drill starters come back in stock? what do i need to get it turning? will a 1/4 inch backplate work on the vertex .16?
thanks, Daniel |

RE: drill start questions

can you tell me about those working on the .16 engine, like if i have to get another back plate to fit the back of the .16? |
RE: drill start questions
the vx .16? If so the roto start plate that redcat sells will fit the vx16 and 18. THink I have a few left.
|
RE: drill start questions
so......does the roto they sell come with the back plate that will fit? im guessing i have to use some sort of rechargable battery for it. no d batteries im guessing.
|
RE: drill start questions
nope 6 cell battery pack(stick) 7.2v and you would need if a charger
anyways I was out running today after converting the bb to singlespeed and now i can spin all 4 tires in dirt/small stones lol talk about fun wow |

ORIGINAL: gokartingbob455 so......does the roto they sell come with the back plate that will fit? im guessing i have to use some sort of rechargable battery for it. no d batteries im guessing. I use a cordless drill to start my buggies...I just knocked out the pin on the end of the wand that goes in the drill and it works great... |
RE: drill start questions
lol MAN i use a cordless drill for my rotostart and it is 750rpm and i found it is not fas enough... i tryed and prove my point... i threw my engine into my vice and tryed to start it with the plactic rotostart part on it... (geared part) and i had no luck... i took it off and had the 1 way bering and got a drill bit that would fit a 6mm hex (one for a rattchet) and it started up right away! so i will be geting the hpi rotostart 2 just wand one...

RE: drill start questions
I dont know what yall are doing....I use a cheap black and decker drill from walmart to start 2 different sh.28s' and it cranks em over with ease...unless you have some hug engines with alotta compression...
|
RE: drill start questions
no the drill that you are using probably has alot of speed and not as much torque while the other drills have alot of torque but not enough speed to start the engines
