Default 150% Spadstick

So I built a spad stick last summer and love the way it flys. Well staying true to the belief that bigger is better, Ive started building a 150% size one! The wing span is going to be 6ft and powered by a 26cc 2-stroke. Im shooting under 15lbs total weight. I have the tail feathers built but Im waiting on a shipment from Harborsales to start the rest. Excuse my fancy gluing jig

I'm having trouble finding 2mm coro though. I need two 24"x36" pieces for the wing skins but cannot find a supplier anywhere that doesnt make you buy over 10 sheets or charges an arm and a leg. I tried Harbor but they want $35 a sheet! Any advice?

I get mine from Regal Piedmont plastics. I have friends that live by San Diego and he gets it delivered to his shop. I have to drive 5 hrs to get to his place since I am in the central Valley. I used to get it from Harbor sales but the shipping got to be too high. I also have a Spad buddy in Reno and I think he said there is a sign shop or plastic supplier that has it there. I do recall seeing it on the net but cant remember where it is. I will send him an email to see where he gets it there.

on the other hand, if you really like spads, you will enjoy buying and having 10 sheets. thats how much I usually get at a time.

Well I was able to work on the Spadstick some tonight. I built the forward and aft formers out of ply and, though it pained me, BALSA. I also bent the landing gear onto shape but I'm going to have to reinforce it somehow. Hoping to get my shipment of coro from Harbor on Monday so I can start building the rest of the fuse. Still on the hunt for 2mm for the wingskins. Sorry for the bad picture quality. Using my phone. Hmmm digital camera's gotta be around here somewhere....

So this weekend I finished reinforcing the forward former with fiberflass and fit the engine and fire wall. I also built the spar which was constructed by laying two yardsticks end-on-end and joining them with two other yardsticks in the middle. Then I ripped 3/4" pieces of yardstick and glued them on the top and bottom to create something that resembles an I-beam. The spar height is 2". Get my coroplast tomorrow so I'll start building the fusalage. I ended up just buying four 24"x24" pieces of 2mm so I am going to do the wing in four section. Should turn out alright, especially if I put some trim over the joint.

Try these people for 2mm coro. I bought two sheets and had them cut the way I wanted and IIRC they cost me a little over $50 with the shipping. And one word of caution, they DO NOT ship fast.
