shipping tube fuselage
#1

Making my first RC airplane for a school project. Has anyone ever considered using a cardboard shipping tube for the fuselage? Like the ones made by ULINE. I am making a rather large 10" diameter fuselage to hold cargo.
They're light, and very strong. Anyone have any thoughts or comments on the idea?

I've never used cardboard tubes because I prefer glow-fuel power and the cardboard wouldn't be fuel proof (without some heavy treatment).
With a true cylinder, I think wing and tail feather mounting might be a challenge but SPAD is all about creativity and trying new things.
Good luck!
