Default Mag 52FS on SPA3DT Question

I know there are/is a thread/threads about somebody running a Magnum 52FS on a SPA3D, but I can't for the life of me find it.

Is anyone running a 4-stroke on the new SPA3DT? If so, what size FS? I am considering either the Mag 52 or an ASP 61FS and would be interested in what prop(s) might work best for these 2 engines.

Thanks,

12x4(.52) or 13x4(.61). I'd get a size larger, just in case. If I have a choice, I'd take the .61. It weighs the same as a .40 sized 2 stroke. The props recommended fotr the .61 are 13x4 to 13x7 so I'd try the 14x4 and the 13x4. Ought to be outstanding!

Default RE: Mag 52FS on SPA3DT Question

I had an ASP 61 FS on my SPA3D and ran a 12 x 6 APC on it. I recently put a TT 54 4 Stroke on it just to test the engine. I use a 12 1/4 by 3.75 on it and get equal performance . The TT doesnt make quite the power as the ASP, but it's not hauling the weight either. The plane does handle a little better with the lighter TT 54 though. So I have decided to keep it on. Either way it is a fun plane, just a little more nimble with the lighter engine. I would think that you would get similar results from the Magnum 52 4 stroke.
Prop selection is kind of a trial & error thing. Try what others have used, but also experiment. I was suprised that the 12x6APC turned out to be the ticket for my combo with the ASP. Go figure?

Default RE: Mag 52FS on SPA3DT Question

I've got the Mag .52 4S on my SPA3D and use a MAS 12x6
and it works okay. Currently testing an APC 11x5 and it
seems okay so far.
I've got 5/32 wire main LG on it now and some hollow tube
inside the fuel clunk hose to keep the clunk from getting
jammed inside that little nose on the front/bottom of the tank.
