from the verry beginning, this plane flew well, even with the CG at 8". Once I got the CG straightened out, she became a *****cat. I have played with the aileron reflex and down elevator as well as lateral balance and now have a plane that flys hands off at all times. It flys like it's on rails and everything happens really slow with this thing. After flying a Slo-Poke, Dazzler and a Tufflight this year, I can honestly say I am more comforatible with this one than any other of my planes (none of which are flight worthy anymore). The fact that it does'nt float (at all) is not an incomberence to me.

Tuesday morning I flew out five tanks of fuel (about 1-1/2 hours). I had three dead sticks and two perfect landings, but the best part was that I went home with the same prop as I came with. When set up properly, these planes have a magical quality that cant be duplicated by anything else. I love it.

The pictures show some of the mods I have made and I'll describe them briefly
1. Sideways engine
2. Removed remote needle valve bracket. Slide fuel line on and wedge into hole drilled into hdpe.
3. Landing gear. I removed the aluminum strap and used 5/32 MW. The pictures should explain it.
4. Stick battery. Just a cool place to put it.
5. MCP I cant say it enough, Thanks Dave. Cool sound and hover just under 1/3 throttle.
6. Diet. Got weight down to under 5lb. probably 4.6lb.

Well that's about it. Oh Yeah, Thanks Tattoo for sharing your designes with all of us, you have made a huge positive impact on our hobby.

So Bill......when your ailerons are at neutral...they point up like that....is that were they ended up for best flight operation?

Also, I noticed that the front of your rudder is screwed to the right side of C-tube; whereas the back is the left....so it has a constant right turn in it. Did you do that to counter engine torque?

The ailerons reflex up 3/8" when the radio is on, but sometimes I will adjust it a click or two with the flap knob while flying depending on how fast I am flying. The rudder is mounted on the same side front and back and the plane trims out with it straight. The second set of pictures is showing the amount of travel I get on the AIL and Rudder. Sorry about the quality of the pics.

So normally, it has a bit of a spoiler effect with the radio is on but when you want to fly faster, you click in some flap and lower it? I'm interested in this because it seems getting the ailerons right is a common sticking point on first flight.....

I'm going with a single aileron servo first....so I won't have this luxery...

Yeah that's the word I was looking for spoiler effect. Faster you move more up reflex on ailerons. Most of the time I will get it up in the air, fly appx 30 mph then turn the knob until it flies level on the upwind leg. This gives it a slightly downward attitude on the downwind leg. Most of the time I forget which way to turn the knob so I end up fiddleing with it for a few seconds.
