Hi guys-
This question came up at the field today: for the purposes of SSC wing size requirement, do you measure the wing including the ailerons or not to get the necessary 400 square inches of wing area.

What Voyager said! It's 400 sq. inches, ailerons included.
Swede, I think if you'll increase the wing to like 48" x 10", closer to 500 square inches, you'll like the performance even more.
When I increased the wing size (and decreased wing loading) with the .15 engine, the plane did more "flying" than "being pulled around the sky." I was impressed by the difference.
What are y'all building?

I'm flying a flat bottom 2mil 60"x9" on mine and wouldn't go any smaller. I am working away from the Hershey bar shape to more of a taper to try to pep up the roll rate.

Thanks guys-
I've discovered too, that more wing is better. I'm using a Mitch Eaves R-250 foam wing 64"X(an average of)8" tapered wing and it flys great. Other guys, some just starting, are building Spad Dogfighter style SSC planes. They've had great luck in the open B class with armored 2 and 4 coro wing and fuses.
Thanks again for the info.
