Maidened a modified DPS today. Made the fuse 40 inches instead of 30 for stability. Originally built to specs but it was a little to sensitive for my newbie thumbs. So the LHS owner where I buy my stuff from suggested the longer fuse. I took his suggestions and took it to the field today. I let him take it up first as I'm not confident in my trimming abilities to much stuff going on at same time!! Well he thought it flew great so now it's my turn. Push the throttle up, a little right rudder, and she's up in about 30 or 40 feet!! With low rates she flies great, landings are a little hotter than my Ultra Stick 40 but thats cool helps in the learning curve and would rather crash this plane than the Stick!!
