I am building my umteenth spad and have now started on a Spad Demon. I am looking for alternatives to purchased engine mounts. Does any one have suggestions for strong alterntive engine mounts????? thanks

make your own out of hdpe cutting board. Take a look at the qhor for an example.

Other than those kitchen cutting board... I am using a 1/4 in plywood as engine mounting and it works fine too. Should the plane nose dive crash, the plywood works as the plane crumpling zone. It breaks before it could break the engine and this have infact saved me a lot in reducing major damage to the engine carburator.

Do a search on the RCCA Spad forum. there are HDPE ones, aluminuim ones, sheet metal ones, basicaly you can use anything
