Electric QHOR
Here are a few photos of my Electric QHOR. A big THANK YOU goes out to DraftMan1 and Mid-Cal Spads!!
I flew it last weekend and today and it feels pretty nice. I'm still learning how she likes to fly, but I'm very happy with the setup so far.
I’m working with two different batteries and get about 5 minutes per flight. One battery is just right, with the CG at the bend in the wing, but the other makes her a little nose heavy. I need to finish some more test flights before I know how it all "feels".
The setup is: Turnigy 700kv motor turning an 11X8.5 electric prop; Speed Control is Turnigy 40 amp, and I'm using 14.8 volt 4S 2200 and 2400 Lipoly batteries.

RE: Electric QHOR
Just a quick update... Had the EQHOR out in the park/baseball field today..
What a blast: bank to one side, little nose up with full elevator and she'll sit there and spin doughnuts all day..
Flew a bunch at 1/2 throttle and was getting about 7 minutes of flight time.
She'll just about hover at 2/3 throttle into a light wind at about 60-degrees up on the nose..
The plane does need trim or a bit of down elevator while flying around inverted...
Fun, Fun, Fun...

RE: Electric QHOR
I did a similar setup to a .15 HOR. Yours looks better though. I cut a square of poly cutting board and screwed it to the rail. used a four point braket that camewiththe motor and small sheet metal screws.

Nice job on the electric QHOR. Looking good.
I have a second SPAD3D I am thinking about electrifying myself.
I did a similar electric conversion with one of my H.O.R. planes. I used a Ammo 28mm inrunner and a gear reduction drive unit. I am using a 10x6 prop and it'll handle a larger prop than that too. But it flies pretty good with the 10x6 on it. I think it flies better than the .15 powered version H.O.R that I have as well. Hand launching is much easier with the electric as it almost flies out of your hand.
