I am doing some revisions to mine to make it faster and lighter. I just got it out of my make shift paint booth. Should be 4 lbs lighter and a bit faster.

I just sent in my application for USRA. I was wondering if the number 77 was not being used ?

Off the top of my head that number should be good.
Even if it isnt, you just add a letter to the end of it just for the race. But like I said, it should be an open number

I am getting ready to build my first race plane and was wondering where would be the best place to do a build thread, also to get information about building these planes tips and etx or where to get a prop for example?

I think a build thread here on RCU is the best place - lots of knowledge, some of it even good on here.
Questions for race specific giant scale stuff maybe go the USRA web site at www.usrainfo.org

Have another plane ready which is legal to fly in either the old Experimental Class or the new break out class called Sportsman .
NA50 with either a DA150 on Alky for the experimental class or a gasser for the slower break out class.

Decided to use a DA150 converted to Alky.
Ordered an 80 oz Dubro to get me through the needed 4 minutes

Gonna try a 21x25 Aero Sport Prop cut down a bit.

It's a DA 100 with a Biela prop. I just made my second flight on it. I'm not sure what I did wrong posting my pic. It was right side up before I post it. When I post it the pic rotates 90 degrees.

I picked up the airframe from A guy in San Jose. She flies like my 60 size great planes Cosmic Wind. I'm trying to get 2 GR-7 planes ready for the F1GT 80 class for Rabbit.

I'm not sure how to set up and run the alky. But that is my goal. I would like to try the pro class for sure. On the sportsman class do we fly 5 laps on 1600' pylons with a 2 minute break out?

Here is an article on the fule system set up.
http://usrainfo.org/fuel_systems_formula_1_alcohol.htm
You can go to usrainfo.org to ask about buying a rtf gt8o converted to alky and you would be set. Fred Sattler makes the props and he is under the link to the vendors and suppliers to GSR.

All classes currently fly 6 laps on the 1600' and yes the time is 2:00. You need a 150 mph plane, and a pretty good turner as well.

That GR is soooooo bad ass! I'm going to have to borrow that paint scheme on an old school pattern airplane I'm working on. You guys are getting me to start thinking about a 150cc powered Macchi.

I can't wait to try it for the first time at Rabbit. I've been wanting to do this since the 90's when I would go watch in Madera Ca
