Default NEW MD530 ELECTRIC AND FIVE BLADES ROTORHEAD!!! with video!

Hello!.
My name is Manuel, I live in Brasil and started to mount and modify scale helis one year ago, until this I only fly the regular ones, I decid to move to the scale after a lot of crashes and before broke my bank account, BAD DECISION!! AT ALL!!, I never crashed a scale helicopter, but...I can not stop mount them, in the store always have a new body to tempt me!.
This is my last MD530, last because I mount three of that model ( and last for now heheh!), I make my own scale multi blade rotorhead after found a lot of problemas to get one here in Brasil, first I use wood blades, modified and balanced. Now move to Carbon Fiber Blades modified in CG, balanced and painted in scale scheme.

you can see videos of my work in my youtube page: http://www.youtube.com/user/krumrick2

And this is the link to my last test in fast forward flight: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nR5I_68Mz2o

The scheme I found in this site : www.airliners.net here you can find any scheme of any helicopter you want!!!.

The details of the project:

Thunder tiger MD530 50 size Military version Fuselage (open doors, rivets, Lights Etc.)
Align T-Rex 600 GF mechanics
Plettenberg Orbit 25/8 Brushless motor 1250 KVs
Battery EVO 22,2 v. 5000miliamper
Speed Align 75 Amp. (stock)
3 Futaba 3151 digital servos
Futaba GY240 Gyro in Normal mode
Futaba 9254 tail Digital Servo
And my custom made Five blades RotorHead
With 550mm MSCompisite blades modified in CG, cut to 520mm, balanced and painted

A few photos of the original scheme and what I do in my fuse!:

I'm impressed, are you using extra gyro's? I like the scale exhaust outlet!

Hello Gary
I'm not use any mixer or gyro in my rotorheads, just mechanical adjust and modified blades, I work weeks over the correct adjust of the "pashing", Rotor head speed and pitch, to reach that stability level you can see in videos, I sold one of this five blades rotorhead to a friend of another forum who lives in Ohio U.S.A., he is real heli pilot, flying the five blades found close to the real ones he fly.
This is the link (with video of his test) with his opinion about: http://www.rchelicoptertown.com/foru...?t=2653&page=2
Another view of the exhaust ( in other MD500 from Century) and rotorhead

Thanks Manuel, it must be a bugger to set up and track five blades!
I assume that you made the head and swashplate to suit then still presumably driven by three ccpm servo's. A lot of time to set pitch, head speed etc but it does seem very stable, or is that your flying! About modding the blades, are you just talking about blade length or general design?
I own an R/C model shop in the UK and am really interested. Great opening doors too.
Incidentally, congrats on your mastership of the english language, much better than Ayrton's was some years ago!
Regards, Gary.

Hi Gary.
What model shop you own!!. (and city?)
And...thanks for the comments on my english (poor Ayrton, hehehe!!),about the difficult in the setup, YES! a lot!.
My first mechanics was Raptor Titan 50 in a MD530 fuse by Thunder Tiger with four blades head and wood blades (not CCPM) them move to Align Nitro this time CCPM (a few days later change to electric one), now I only use (and for ever, ever!) electric mechs in scale bodies.
To match the swash with the head I make a ring to fix in the Align metal sawshplate with 6 balllinks ( see photo) a cheap and easy to find spare part.Like the bladegrips and wash arm I use in the follower (swash driver).
I do not change nothing in the original setup of the mechanics, to get more flying time change the stock motor for a Plettenberg Orbit 25/08 with less KV (1250 vs 1700) this improve torque and flight time in 30%, plus...motor,speed(75A) and battery running cold even with 4,9 kgm of scale helicopter. By the way, rotorhead speed around 1550 RPM's.
And is all stability, not pilot skills ( i'm good, but not that good!), the five blades head is really nice to fly, a lot better than regular heads, look all the videos, is always the same, you take-of and the heli remains rock-solid stability.

Regards
Manuel

Hello Manuel. I opened a shop about ten weeks ago called Scancom Radio Control in Corby, Northamptonshire, UK
I mentioned Ari da Silva because I used to know him years ago when he first came to the UK as a FF1600 driver, nice guy.
Like you I prefer electric, two TRex 600E CF's and two 450 SEV2's all scale. the 450's are EC136 Align and MD500.
Does it cost a lot to have a head and swash ring made, it certainly looks the business and flies great, good job. I understand about the motor, five blades are a lot to push round!
Best Regards, Gary.

Hello Gary
I been looking your site (your store), I wish you have a lot of business, maybe one day you can sell my heads?!. I'm plannig to close my actual company (graphics print) and open a new one to work with scale helis only!.
I have a lot of ideas, actually i'm working in a Fenestron tail and coaxial rotor head, all for 50/600 size helicopters, and a fuselage for Eurocopter Dauphin .A friend of me is specialist in repair carbon fiber in military helicopters here in my city, mostly Eurocopter Phanter (Dauphin military version), he work building the mock-up for the fuselage. Soon as I have post photos of that work!.

Regards
Manuel
