Hi,
I'm about ready to start my first scale heli project, and I'm trying to put a Vario benzin mechanic into a Graupner JetRanger III fuselage. I've already lengthened the boom and raised the mast on the mechanics. The fuse is designed to literally swallow the entire mechanic, minus the landing skids. Once the mechs are bolted down via the skid holes, I'm not sure where else I should make an attachment point. My initial thoughts are to use the same mount points provided for the canopy, just behind the main mast. And right where the boom exits the tail section.
What should I use for the mount points to the fuse? A bolt of some sort seems to be the simplest, but I'd prefer not to put a hole in the fuse.
Is one boom attachment near the end good enough? I'm thinking about a ring of plywood, or maybe some screws to hold the boom like a stand for a tree.
Thoughts, suggestions?
Thanks!
