Looks nice Codydaniels,

Can't waite to hear how she flies. Love this plane, was not sure it was a real plane or a made up or kit plane used in the Road Warrior movie untill I watched the video some one posted a link to.

Work has been going slow but making progress. Here is the fuselage so far. I put my transmitter alongside to show how big it is,22 inches tall.

Still moving slower than I would like. But still making some progress. I finished priming the last pieces today and did a trial assembly to be sure everything still fits.
Next step is to assemble everything into it and test fly to be sure it is airworthy before I paint it.
But first I have to break in the engine.

Amazing build and very interesting scale subject. I too remember this
plane from Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, at the time I didn't think
it was a real aircraft.

Great subject and your work looks great for your fist plan built. I love building from plans, I hope you keep it up.

I have been working on installing the servos and linkages. Making sure everything has a place and works. Installed a working hopper. Put the engine on a test stand and am getting it broke in. I weighed the plane and it is 14lbs. The RCV engine that I have is only good for around 10lbs. I'm still learning about this scratch build stuff. A friend has let me borrow a Saito 150 to put into it. The Saito is almost 1.5 inches longer than the RCV. Now I have to cut and recces the firewall. I cut the pieces out today and I will have to assemble the recces inside the fuselage to get it to work.

FUN,FUN,FUN.

The new engine and exhaust are mounted. Now to make a windshield, balance and then test fly. The exhaust is a straight pipe that exits in the stock location.

We have had a lot of wind lately so my project has been sitting waiting for some taxi testing. Today I was able to get it to the field and run it up and down the taxiway. First time it wanted to go right even with full trim added. After that was worked out it went straight and true down the runway. We did some engine tuning and ran it again. I got going fast enough to take off and noticed the front wheel/strut wobbling a lot. It was getting late so I packed it up for today.

Does anyone have an idea what would make the front wheel/strut wobble? The best I can describe it was that it looked like a defective shopping cart front wheel shaking back and forth. The wheel is brand new and has no slop. It is connected to the servo by a 440 rod about 8 inches long. The strut is mounted with standard dubro nylon mounts.
