Default RC Modeler Magazines/Articles are available to you!

Hello all,

I finally completed a labor of love that took three years in the making. When I first got started in RC modeling, I would pick up Radio Control Modeler Magazine and read the articles in it from cover to cover and repeat. Well, this was during my college days and I needed to make a decision between finishing school or building more airplanes. After completing my degree, I got back into building and flying RC planes. I ordered a set of plans from RCMplans.com (when they were still faithful in getting their plans out to customers) and I was looking for a build article for the F-117 (February 1997 issue) and I asked if anybody could send me a scanned copy of the article. Well, all I got was that I could pay for the article or buy the magazine from individuals. I thought that this was not very helpful so I decided to look on EBAY and I found and obtained the magazine. I read the magazine from cover to cover and I remember how much I enjoyed the magazine. I decided to see if I could order more RC Modeler Magazines to read. After acquiring a fair number of magazines, I decided that I would scan the magazines and convert them into PDFs for easy storage and retrieval. Long story short, I have acquired, scanned and converted them all into PDFs. All the issues from October 1963 to June 2005. Along the way, I have also collected Model Aviation, Model Airplane News and Flying Model magazines, all of which have been scanned to PDF. So, if you are looking for an article, a review, a build article or whatever, please let me know and I will upload the article so that you and anybody else can enjoy it.

Happy flying and soft landings!

I would like to see the article for the Miller receiver that appeared in the January, 1953 issue of Model Airplane News. It was the first one I used. Thanks, Dan.

Hi All Day Dan,

I only have the complete collection of RC Modeler. As far as in Model Airplane News, I have most of the issues from 1985-2014. As far as in Model Aviation, I have 1975-2014.

Happy flying and soft landings!

No problem. How about the construction article "Two WWII Fighters For Sunday Flying" that appeared in the January 1973 issue of RC Modeler. Dan.

You are a saint. Not too may people would attempt such an undertaking as this, let alone offer it for free to fellow modelers. Folks like you make this hobby great!

Thank you!

Congratulations attitude in favor of our hobby. I would suggest, of course if you so desire and if legally possible.
Why not available on the net the files listed by magazine name and date?

Hi Bob,

Yes, RCM had two articles on the Ultrasport: Ultrasport 1000 was in RCM April 1992 and the Ultrasport 60 was in RCM August 1989. I am also looking to getting a temporary website to hold all these magazines and allow people to download them as they want. Right now, I am looking at optimizing the PDFs to reduced the file size without sacrificing too much visual quality.

Happy flying and soft landings!

Really really nice for you to provide all of us with that great library. This is what RCU should be all about. Thanks buddy. When you come to Florida's sun coast come fly with us at Manatee R/C in Palmetto! -Tony

What a great thing to do for everyone! I also loved RCM and was a faithful subscriber from the early 80's until they went under. I read every issue cover to cover and kept my collection of magazines for years until a move forced me to get rid of my collection. Thank you so much for your efforts ser00!

When I was 12 or 13 years old my Dad brought home a copy of RCM which he had gotten from a friend. I read it over and over dreaming of one day being able fly an RC airplane. The article which captured my attention most was the review of the Great Planes Super Sportster .60. I would really like to obtain a copy or even download of this magazine or article. I imagine this issue would be dated somewhere around 1980? This issue of RCM started a lifelong love of model aviation and I would really like an opportunity to see the pictures and read the review again if possible.

Thanks for all the work you put into this. These were great magazines full of information not Ads like you see today. Is there an index of build articles?

You show us all, the make-up of most of the people in this hobby. What a wonderful effort you have made for all of us who remember RCM. Chic

All I can say is wow, what a great thing to do for the hobby. RCM was the magazine that got me started in the hobby back in 1991. I, as most of us reading here, would love to have the entire collection of pdf' s. I look forward to the possibility of being able to download from a website. Thank you for such a tremendous gift.

ser00,
Thank you very much for the Super Sportster article! It was fun to read however this is not the one I was thinking of. I believe there was an earlier article that would have been with the .40 or .60 sized Sportsters. If not too much trouble could you provide a link to those if they did in fact exist as I remember?
Thank you again for what you have done in making these available for all to enjoy!
Darin
