Don,
Several are doing foamie and more complicated r/c stuff in google sketch up....free....my son draws all sorts of stuff using it....file sharing with sketchup is impressive too...several foamies already there....

There are scores, maybe hundreds by now, of "basic" CAD programs.

The 2D version is free, simple and powerful.

As far as simple 3D CAD is concerned, I would tend to recommend RcCad (www.rccad.com [link=http://www.rccad.com]RcCad[/link])... I wrote it because I did not find any tool for designing my Rc planes )
