Vacuum forming question
Hello everyone.
Anyone know a company or private party that does small quantity vacuum forming?
I need a few cowls and canopies. I don't want to make my own VF rig. I'll make my own molds.
Thanks, Carl

RE: Vacuum forming question
If the parts are small enough then you can form them using 2 liter pop bottles. Cut the ends off so it's just a simple tube. Put the part in the bottle with some packing so it's a tight'ish fit and use a heat gun on the bottle. It'll shrink down around the part like magic. It won't do mold lines very well though but simple shapes are fine.

Hi Carl,
I think I may be able to help you. Email me at [email protected]. I have access to a production grade VF machine in my boss's shop, plus lots of plastics. Right now I mold 12" wide lexan domes for his business and make parts on the side as well.
