Have You Built This Power Supply ?
Dang. My power supply must be toast in some fashion. Without a multimeter it is hard to tell (well, I have a junky one with a burned out fuse and a piece of tinfoil in its place) what might be wrong.
So I just spliced a household dimmer onto the power cord, turned my potentiometer up to high, put the Hi-Low switch in the low position and started cutting. Cut a little blue foam last night and it went pretty well. I should have just gone the dimmer-transformer route to begin with apparently. It gets the .020 stainless nice and red hot when turned up all the way even on the 48" bow. Cool!
Seriously, I will check it tonight as best as I can. I hate to have spent $50 on all the parts for something that could have been done for $30 less. Gotta get it to work correctly.

Thanks to all for the great info here. I now realize that I had my triac in backwards. It worked great for a while and then it just stopped. I couldn't get more than 12V out of it. All of the other components seem fine. Someone above mentioned that they can only get 12V after it worked well for awhile. Check the triac.
Thanks!
Herb
