Hi all...
Just wanted to show off one of my latest "modeling" projects. The plane is a 1:5 scale Supermarine Seafang F.32.
Now if I could only get my hands on a 5-axis CNC machine...
In case you wonder...no it is not finished... many details/modifications left to do.

Det er da utroligt at selv på et amerikansk forum kan man ikke være i fred...
P.S. Er det iøvrigt ikke over din sengetid???
P.P.S. Her er lige éen mere...

One of the things that has always bothered me about the Spiteful/Seafang is the lack of accurate 3-views, but I finally found some good drawings on a Russian web page, and it´s from those drawings I made the 3D model. All the other 3-views I have don't look anything like the real plane.
What airfoil are you using for your model? I know that the full size used a laminar Supermarine 371-I / 371-II, but I have not been able to find the coordinates anywhere, nor any other info about the airfoil.
All my drawings show a 3-4° incidence. Seems like a lot but then again according to my drawings the tail plane sits at a 1.5° positive incidence plus about 1.5° down thrust on the engine... Maybe that will even out some of the incidence of the main wing?
What engine do you intend to power your model with?
Would you be interested in exchanging reference material/cad drawings/3-views?

My Feedback: (60)
Tinus, I traced the airfoil off of my three views as I could not find the coordinates for the Supermarine airfoil anywhere either. Hopefully it will work to my satisfaction. I am going to draw the plans to accept a Moki 1.8 engine for power. I'd be happy to share what I have on the airplane although it is not a great deal.
