You have to love Crimsum skys, dont you.
Anyway, the design is a derivative of the F-89 ( twin mustang), with some encourage ment I am cure you can make it fly. Designing it true to scale, that is another story

ThunderAI
DANG, you figured me out. I do love the game, Im thinking that it would need some strong engines, the rudders made a little bigger and it would be capible to fly.
greenboot
Dont forget witches too, lol. I agree with ya, this plane should be able to, its only a concept idea at the moment, but I want to see what everyones opionion is before i put alot of time into a plane like this to find out that it flies like a piece of crap, lol.
thansk for the imput guys.

Hum, maybe after I get all the projects out of my shop i might see if I can build a model of the McDonnell S2B Kestrel and see how well it flies, itll be a differ plane out on the flight line, But Im gonna head for a single engien first, stay tuned, ill come up with a single engine plane now.

Another Crimson Skies lover here !!
Its a great game, but I'd add some things:
1. Better customization menu (possibility to add 3D like engines, bigger ruders, CG, surface travel, etc).
2. Better flight sim ( be able to take off and land on ground or on top of blimps )
By the way, these are my fav. planes. I'll maybe build one out of foam and coro for a 1,2m (48-50") parkflyer:
(No particular order)
_Brigand
_Fury
_Devastator
_Warhawk
See this threa for a Devastator-like plane. I think with some mods, you could make one using most of this design.

I totally agree with you on all the things to change, lol.
same on the planes to build, i would go after the warhawk, but build it with 3 glow engine, and getting them to all run, a pain, maybe a BIG one with 3 G-23's on it would be neat.
Another thing I wish they did was let you land the planes on the ground, i hated it when i never got to land.

You could also make the Warhawk with that big engine and two props spinning, if you're able to hide an engine that big inside a cowl! Hey wait a minute, the Warhawk is the heavy fighter version of the V-22 Osprey! The side engines were supposed to tilt on theri nacelles !
Anyway, I was thinking of a Brigand. Of course they would be sooo cooool 1/3 scale or 1/1, but I haven't got either the time or the time, so if I decide myself to build one, I'll make a 50" wspan .10 glow parkflyer to impress friends .
When its done, I'll add an "ork like" finishing process: big guns, bullet holes, ork pilot (WAAAAAAGH!!!!:devious, and some details (just some, I don't want a fast taxying winged car). Who knows, maybe a big radiator, a couple of patches bolted to them...

The first one should fly just fine with perhaps only a very slightly enlarged pair of fins. The side area is sneaky on that one as there's a lot of area in the dorsals so it's not as bad as it looks at first glance. The noses ARE a little long but with lighter engines that are sized "just right" for the model it shouldn't be too bad to keep the balance point under control. At worst you'll need a little bit of tail weight.
As for the "lawn dart" Fury you'd better lay down until the feeling goes away. There's no way on earth you can put the engine up there and not need to add a TON of tail weight to balance out what is basically a flying wing. If it was a pusher then it would be a natural. But I don't see how you can mod it without ruining the looks.
Love the game. The canard X wing pusher one is a possible project for me some day. I'd just have to fatten up the low hanging fins to form landing gear spats and add a retractable nose wheel.

Making a Fury fly would be a nice challenge for anyone claiming to be a good designer... I'm one of the few that find it possible, but let me tell how.
This is an obviously unbalanced plane. To balance it, you should put the engine in front of the wing, and lay a transmission to the front, where you would put a thought ball bearing firmly attached to the fuselage. It would be wise to have a very slight flex on that transmission, to make the prop reaction softer to rpms variations.
The tail should be kind of heavy, and you should obviously put all the weighty stuff such as the batts or servos there. Anyway you should make it to balance it without adding weight, by moving the typical items: servos, batts, etc.
But, have you seen the almost inexistent tail moment? that plane must be nervebreaking to fly! Its like a flying wing, IMHO you should pilot it like such.
By the way, any ideas on how to do the wings on the Brigand with coro? They're very thin and slightly bent, like the corsair, but much less.

Can this plane fly, somthing totally differ
Its all fun and games designing these planes to fly, wonder If these guys who designed the game ever though some people would try to turn them into real flying aircraft. I like the "hellhound" i think it is. now there is a flying wing. i designed one on the game today, talk about a flying tank, slamed into 2 warhawks and it was still flying with minor damage.
Do you guys have the game yourselves????
If any of ya really go into buildign one, let me know, like to see how it goes.
the bloodhound, now that one, lol, its a hot dog, she should be a heck of a speedy plane.
