H9 Saratoga On Floats
Our club has a float fly every year in October, I have watched (and volunteered) for several years and have now decided to put something on floats. I was thinking about the H9 Saratoga, anyone using this as a float plane (I like the mid wing)? Was going to use a Evo .52 for power. I fly all large scale giants and was just thinking this would be fun for a couple outings a year, I will leave the floats on it as it will never fly on land. Thoughts 7 suggestions?
Thanks,
Steve

RE: H9 Saratoga On Floats
Hi Steve, I flew the Saratoga for the video in [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/article_display.cfm?article_id=1151]THIS REVIEW[/link] and it is probably the best float plane I have ever had the pleasure of flying (And I've flown a lot of float planes)
The first half of the video is on wheels and the second half is on floats. Check it out

RE: H9 Saratoga On Floats
Just to add. We have a local flyer with a Saratoga on floats and it is impressive. We just had a 6 day float fly with 92 registered and there were 2 Saratoga's They were indeed impressive. Very nice model on floats!
Also, this comment was made after Hangar 9/Horizon ignored this year's "donation request", so it must be a good combo.

Great review Mike! Thanks for the link to the video "scale only 4 me".
Seems like a great choice for floats and my needs. Thanks for the heads up, I'm ordering it now

Wow, we had a great float fly but even better; my Saratoga flew fantastic! I powered it with a evo .46nx and this plane had no power problems at all. It was really fun flying knife edge, loops, rolls, inverted and even rolling circles on floats! It wouldn't hover
The Saratoga it a great choice for no hassle float flying.
