Default Scratch Building Floats

I want to try to make some floats for my GWS E-Starter from blue foam. I read samsrc's post about how long, they should be, how far forward they should be, and where the step should be, but I'm not sure if there should be a specific shape to stick to. I have an idea how the tip should be, but how deep should the step be, and what shape should the tail have.

Any input will help, Thanks.

Jim
