Default Floats/Skis for a Slowstick

Hi, I'm hoping this isnt the wrong area to post this, but I figured you guys would have knowledge on this...

I am looking for a way to build a set of lightweight skis for my slowstick so I can fly it during the winter. I am assuming that a ski is relativly close to the float is size and shape, but I really have no idea. Has anyone else done this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Brian

Brian, in my opinion you would be better off using floats for the snow instead of skis. I've used skis that were about 8" long on the mains and about 4" long on the nose gear. and I've used 2 skis that were about as long as floats (hard to turn on the snow). The floats are much easier to handle in the snow since they ride around the step area. This makes it easier to turn when you can pivot about the step. The long skis have the whole length in the snow, and the short skis are difficult to keep at a favorable attitude when in the air......Seaplane

Slowsticks work just fine on floats. Seaplane is right. (As usual)

thanks for the help, do any of you know where I would be able to find floats for the slowstick? I am hoping that I can just make them out of styrofoam, but I could end up just buying them if need be. Thanks again.

Does a slowstick have enough power for taking off water or do you have to toss it? With stock motor that is.

I had it go off sorf snow and ice, since its winter. Its the 300 motor and it jumps of the ground in 10 feet with the wheels on.

TNX but water produces more drag and I was just wondering it it was capable off water. I go to a float fly where they do everything from boats to planes I could use the SS if I had floats.
