senorita on floats
planning on a senorita to teach my son to fly.
id like to put floats on it for my enjoyment!!
does a 30 4 stroke make a practical engine for
powering it. one in our club uses a fp25 but
hasnt tried floats.i dont want it to struggle off the water.
im sure it will be great on wheels for training the boy!

RE: senorita on floats
I flew mine with an OS MAX .25 two stroke, with 32" plastic floats. 9" prop.
Makes a great float plane.
Had some trouble lifting out if the water IF it was too smooth. so I had to buzz around the surface going in circles like a big mosquito, then Crossed over these little waves to break suction and get airborn. It flew very nicely. but I would not call it over powered.
If your 4 stoke is similar power then go for it. but if it is less? you may have trouble.
FWIW.
Rick.

RE: senorita on floats
Kadets of any size make fabulous floatplanes.
Just get some real floats....not those glorified blow-molded squeeze-bottles that seem to appear everywhere. There are several firms offering custom-cut foam-core floats for a pittance, and these will outperform the molded plastic ones..lighter, better water handling, easier takeoffs.
