Bill Prices seaplane kits
Several years ago, I built one of Bill Price's PBY kits as a static display. The kit didn't belong to me, I just offered to build it. It took me every bit of three months to complete it. I can't remember the scale, but it was huge. Naturally since it was meant as a static, I skipped all of the RC installation steps. Once I completed it, I hung it in our training room at work, where it was meant to be. It came out gorgious. Now I'm thinking of building one for me, but this time as an RC. Has anyone out there built any of Bill's kits (he has lot's to offer), and if so, how did yours come out? If I remember right, Bill is out of California. Any input would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris.

RE: Bill Prices seaplane kits
I saw one PBY -(80" I think)- and it sat too low in the water. In fact, every small PBY I have seen seems to share this trait. This caused the props to suck water which kept the RPM way down - with not enough power left to take off. I videoed on attempt for about 5 minutes at full power - it never left the water.

RE: Bill Prices seaplane kits
The PBY I built had a wingspan of a good ten feet or better, may not be the same kit your talking about. Tried to post more pictures that I have of it, but my computer is giving me fits, will try again soon.
Thanks,
Chris.
Update: Just checked Bill's website, the one I built is 1/12 scale, with a 104" wingspan.
